Ancient European artifacts, especially jewelry, are a favorite around the studio of Vintage Faerie. With Roman inspirations, we handcrafted this bracelet just as if it was unearthed in an ancient Roman dig, with a little twist, of course. Ancient style scrolls frame a 4 mm set-stone (Turquoise shown) and hand hammered sterling yields to a handcrafted primitive-style clasp. The twist? *Casted Jewelry: Many times mistaken as handmade, jewelry that is casted involves the original handcrafted item to be sent to a casting company, or done in-house, where a mold of the original is made. From this mold any number of the original may be reproduced. Casting offers an inexpensive means for an artist to make jewelry that tends to be time consuming to create (such as handstamped jewelry) easily available, especially since less artist time and skills are involved.
