It’s easy to order a custom photo charm… just send us your photograph in the manner that is most convenient to you and we will craft your charm, entirely by hand, within 6-8 weeks*.
Our custom photo charms are lovingly made entirely by hand- from the hand-cut glass to the melting of silver metal crafting each “frame”. Please expect and embrace the handcrafted “imperfections” that you will find make each and every piece truly unique.
Below is detailed information regarding how to submit your photos, how to choose the best photos for your custom items, the difference between a charm and pendant, and so forth. Following this information is the shopping cart where custom photo charms, pendants and ornaments may be purchased.

1. Select Your Photo(s).
Gather a photo, or two, for consideration. Please, no copyrighted photos! All custom photo items also have a back. Back options include a second photo, a quote, a simple word... or authentic vintage paper and wallpaper scraps. Information regarding submitting your photos to us is located in the
Submitting Custom Photos section, located after the purchase section.
At times we may take the liberty to crop your photo so the main focus of your photo is easily seen, especially when viewed on a small scale. Many times your finished charm or pendant will be in the "shape" of the subjects in your photo(s). This is extremely important to remember when submitting two photos (front and back) for the same item. Both photos should work well with each other.
Photographs for circle charms require a lot of “border”. Photos that are submitted for circle charms which are cropped extremely close to the subject do not give us the “border” that we need. Sometimes we are able to craft a border and extend the photo, most times the charm’s frame will have to cover some subject matter.
If you are not sure if your photos will work, keep in mind the more room we have to crop or resize a photo to the subject(s) the more ability we have to make a front and back photo work together in one item.
We understand that at times you may wish to use a photo(s) that includes an "unattractive" background, or includes undesirable items that you would like removed. We are happy honor such editing requests, however there is an additional cost to do so. Our standard non-negotiable photo editing fee is $10.00 for every 15 minutes of photo editing. To give you an idea, most editing runs about 30 minutes, on average. Just email us for information!
2. Decide if you would like a custom Photo Charm or Pendant.
This part is really simple. Ask yourself how you would like to wear or use your custom photo item then pick the size that works best for your needs- that’s it! Charms are great to add to our toggle bracelet, or wear on one of our many necklace chains. Pendants are larger and although some love mixing pendants and charms together on their bracelets, most prefer pendants to be worn on necklace chains. You may also use charms and pendants to enrich your home or personal décor- add a ribbon and tie to a door knob, chandelier, on presents, or make wine charms, spell a word; the options are limitless.
Some sizing basics…
Most photos suggest the finished charm shape, however feel free to make shape/specific size requests in the comments section during checkout. We produce charms as small as ½”x½” and have crafted ornaments as large as 5”.
Charms: Exact dimensions depend on the shape of your photo, however most charms range in size of ¾"x¾" or ¾" x 1". Busier photos usually produce a 1"x1" charm so subject matter may be easily viewed. It is our policy that charms do not exceed 1" in size. This means that any side of the charm does not measure over 1".
Pendants: Exact dimensions depend on the shape of your photo, however most pendants range in size of 1 ¼" - 1 ½" up to 2". It is our policy that pendants measure over 1" and do not exceed 2". This means that as long as any one side of a photo item measures over 1" then it is considered a pendant.
Ornament: Wonderful to tie to gifts, hang from ribbon, or use during the Holidays. Ornaments are available in square, rectangle and circle shapes. Standard ornament sizing is 2½"-3", longest side, for rectangle or square ornaments. Circles are a standard 2".
3. The Finishing Touches...
You may choose to leave the front photo of your custom photo piece in the original color submitted, or we may change your photo's color to the following options:

Second Photo (in original, black/white or sepia).
Name in old text or antique script on vintage French postcard print (may use First and Middle Names).
Name and Birthdate in old text or antique script on vintage French postcard print (may use First and Middle Names).
Favorite Quote or a Special Word in old text or antique script on vintage French postcard print (max. of 35 characters including spaces and punctuation).
Authentic Vintage Paper or Authentic Vintage Wallpaper Scrap paper scrap backs range from text and ledgers to old print designs, all vintage or antique. Wallpaper scrap backs range in various shapes, patterns and colors. Papers will be hand selected by us.

And the finished charm...

| All charms and pendants come with a heavy jump ring which may be easily opened with jewelry pliers an added to a bracelet, or left closed to slip over a chain or ribbon. By using heavy jump rings your charms run less risk of suddenly coming loose and falling off your bracelet or necklace.

Submitting Custom Photos
Email Your Photos: This is the easiest and fastest way to submit your photos to us for production. Photos may be submitted to us from a Digital Camera or Scanned Images. We request that you follow our digital image requirements detailed below. Keep in mind images viewed on a computer monitor require a lower resolution than for print which is why we require the following resolution and image formats.
- Email Us
- Include your Full Name in the email Subject line.
- ALL Scanned images MUST be scanned at a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for the best quality prints. [If you are unsure as to how to scan at a min. resolution of 300 DPI please search "resolution" in the HELP section of your scanner's software. Most scanner's software will "walk" you through the necessary steps.] *
- ALL images must be saved in a high quality JPG format. [When ready to save your image, go to the FILE menu, click SAVE AS. A new window appears showing the location to save your image as well as the opportunity to name and save your image. Find the "SAVE AS TYPE" drop down menu and click on JPG. Click SAVE.]
Mail Your Photos: If emailing photos is not for you, you may submit your photos to us via regular mail. Please print our Order Form, fill in full, and mail with your photos. We recommend having a High Quality Copies made of your original photos. We suggest sending us copies instead of the originals because there is the possibility photos may become damaged during mailing and we would hate for your sentimental photos to be "lost" forever. Copies may be made at many fine copiers across the country; one in particular is Kinko's.
***Production timeframe begins when all custom photos are received, regardless when your order was placed.
Additional Information
* If a photo submitted is of poor resolution, we will notify you via email. It is then up to you to decide whether to proceed or to submit a different photo. Do not worry about the size of the photo you submit, we will handle all necessary resizing and actually prefer the photo be left in its original form.
Feel free to let us know if you have any cropping or size requests**. Please keep in mind the final size depends on the shape and original cropping of your photo(s).
Lastly, we ask that you please do not submit copyrighted photos or images! We are constantly bombarded with inquiries where individuals have taken a photo off of the internet and submitted the photo to us for a custom charm or pendant. This is illegal, and we will not knowingly make any charms or pendants from copyrighted material(s). Please remember, just because a photo/image is found on the internet does not give you the license to reproduce or use the photo/image. We suggest that you contact the owner (not necessarily the website where you found the photo, for the website owners may not hold the copyright) of the respective photograph or image to inquire about reproduction, or please visit the United States Copyright Office for further information. Also, we are NOT COPYRIGHT LAWYERS and we will NOT CONDUCT COPYRIGHT SEARCHES. If we suspect a photo/image to be copyrighted we will immediately cease production and no refund will be given.
We are NOT able to accept returns for custom work under any condition, nor are we responsible for any data not correctly entered on Order Forms or in Webpage Text Fields, such as incorrect dates, misspellings, or any custom information that has been mistakenly entered.
**Any severe cropping or photo editing requests (removal of backgrounds, cutting out undesirable objects, etc) will incur an additional non-negotiable photo editing fee of $10.00 for every 15 minutes of photo editing. We will notify you via email if a request you have made requires additional photo editing. We will not continue processing the respective order until approval by the customer has been received if necessary.
